Cleveland Heights is somewhat unique in the region because no interstate highways run through its borders, contributing to its cohesive neighborhood feel. Commuters rely on major state routes—primarily US Route 322 (Mayfield Road) and US Route 422 (Chagrin Boulevard)—to navigate into Cleveland or out to the eastern suburbs.
Public transit is provided by the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA). While there are no rail stations within the city limits, several major bus lines serve the commercial corridors. Additionally, the RTA Red Line and the HealthLine bus rapid transit (BRT) are easily accessible just over the border in University Circle.
The city is heavily invested in becoming more bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly, with dense, highly walkable neighborhoods and expanding networks of shared street lanes. Rideshare services (Uber, Lyft) are widely available, and EV charging stations are being increasingly integrated into municipal parking lots.
