The topography of Scottdale is defined by the gently undulating hills and ravines standard to the Georgia Piedmont. The elevation rests around 1,024 feet (312 meters) above sea level, providing a relatively moderate grade that made it highly suitable for early industrial and railroad development.
There are no extreme topographical features such as deep canyons, high mountain peaks, or coastal zones. The terrain features subtle slopes that naturally drain into local creeks, though much of the original topography has been graded over the last century to accommodate housing subdivisions, commercial strips, and roadway infrastructure.
