Geography

Located in the Piedmont region of Georgia, Chattahoochee Hills spans over 50 square miles of verdant, undulating terrain in the southwestern corner of Fulton County. Its northwestern and western borders are defined by the winding Chattahoochee River, which serves as a natural boundary and an ecological lifeline for the region.

The city's landscape is a mix of dense pine and hardwood forests, sprawling pastures, and winding creeks. Because of the city's innovative zoning laws, a vast majority of the land is legally protected green space or zoned for large-tract agriculture. This ensures that the natural beauty of the region, from the riverbanks to the inland forests, remains largely untouched by traditional suburban development.
