The **Oostanaula River** is the primary waterway flowing through Calhoun, offering opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The river is formed just north of the city by the confluence of the **Coosawattee River** and the **Conasauga River**. **Salacoa Creek** also meanders through the region, feeding into local recreational lakes.
