Topography

The topography of Auburn is characterized by gently rolling hills and heavily wooded terrain. Elevations within the city range from around 500 feet above sea level in the southern stream valleys to roughly 800 feet in the northern sections near the Piedmont foothills. Chewacla State Park features some of the most distinct topographical features in the immediate area, including a 26-acre man-made lake, rugged hiking trails, and exposed rock formations that highlight the geological shift from the Piedmont to the Coastal Plain.
