Thodupuzha experiences a Tropical Monsoon climate (Köppen classification: Am). The weather is generally warm and humid throughout the year, with temperatures typically ranging from 24°C to 32°C (75°F to 90°F).
The town receives heavy rainfall during two main seasons: the Southwest Monsoon (Edavappathy) from June to September, and the Northeast Monsoon (Thulavarsham) in October and November. The summer months from March to May can be quite hot and highly humid, though occasional pre-monsoon showers provide relief.
The best time to visit is from September to February, when the weather is relatively cooler and the landscape is spectacularly lush following the monsoon rains. Like much of Kerala, the town is vulnerable to localized flooding during extreme monsoon downpours.
