Population

While a river itself does not have a population, the Meenachil River basin is densely populated, primarily encompassing the Kottayam district. Kottayam is known for its high literacy rate and relatively high standard of living. The population along the riverbanks is remarkably diverse, comprising a mix of Hindu, Christian, and Muslim communities who have lived in harmony for centuries.
