Government

The Museum locality is governed as a ward under the jurisdiction of the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation, the oldest city corporation in Kerala. It is represented by a Ward Councillor who handles local municipal issues such as sanitation, street lighting, and road maintenance. The overarching heritage structures, museums, and zoo are managed directly by the Department of Museums and Zoos under the Government of Kerala, which maintains the facilities, oversees ticket sales, and ensures the welfare of the animals and conservation of the artifacts.
