Housing

The housing market in Isfahan Province reflects a blend of ancient tradition and rapid modern urbanization. In major cities, particularly the capital, housing primarily consists of mid-rise apartment buildings and contemporary condominiums.

In older districts and historic cities like Kashan, one can still find traditional Persian courtyard houses, characterized by high walls, central pools, and wind-catchers (badgirs), though many are being converted into boutique hotels or preserved as heritage sites.

Like the rest of Iran, Isfahan has experienced significant inflation in the housing sector. Property values and rental costs have surged, pushing many working-class families toward satellite cities and newly developed affordable housing projects (such as the Mehr Housing schemes) on the outskirts of major metropolitan areas.
