About Social Pulse
SocialPulse is a collective wisdom social network that builds social capital for all participants.
People are social beings. They like to
belong to a group, either their community, religion, race,
professional, academic, neighborhood or close friends. We all have a craving to be important, heard,
become famous. However, most of the cases we are shy and try to be fans
of "successful people". We do a lot of great things on
a daily basis but we do not keep record of it and others who witness it
either forget or ignore it. With various social networks like
Facebook, MySpace, Linkedin, Twitter popping up we are trying
ways of getting that attention we are all craving for. Even with those, the
chances of of documenting, nurturing and capitalizing your social
capital is not easy. Some of the reasons are these:
- Most of these Social Networks are walled private communities
- We tend to be connected with the same people we are always comfortable with who may not be the right people who can help you in your career and other projects
- We have the great fear of privacy when in fact most of our privacy is already lost on the internet
- You lose control of whatever you put on these social networks and if they go out of business, your photos, comments, blogs and network are gone.
It is very important for you to start thinking about capturing your social content (with internet it is easier), document, copyright, promote and capitalize it.
For example when you write a comment on another website like www.nytimes.com or www.techcrunch.com or CNN.com you need to consider what you are actually doing.
- You are spending time to write content that is attributed to you on some other sites
- You do not own the copyright of that content
- You may forget what you wrote and can haunt you in future when search engines index and make it available for anybody to see
- Your messages may never get published
- Your valuable time and social capital is lost
This is the mission of SocialPulse.com. We want to help you take control of your Social Capital. Read more about social capital on www.SocialCapital.IN
